Music In The Garden – Between The Lines 22 Aug 21
Another grand afternoon of music at the Cottage Museum yesterday, Sunday 22nd August 2021.
John Wikinson and his team of Friends volunteers (thank you team) set up the awnings, chairs and refreshments for what was a splendid afternoon of traditional folk music from the quintet of Between The Lines. The weather just about held off and luckily we had plenty of chairs under cover for the approximately 60 members of the audience who were well entertained all afternoon.
Refreshments were served at 2.50pm by Trish, Judy, Jean and Patzi and the teas, coffees and home made cakes were consumed with relish. All cakes were made and provided by museum volunteers with gluten-free options available, served up by Margaret and Nigel E.
The entertainment continued after the interval and finished at 4pm, just in time for the first downpour of the day as the awnings were dismantled, so yes, we had wet awnings to deal with!
As before, the cost of staging these music events and refreshments has been borne by a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund so a big thank you to all lottery players for their help towards these costs.
Next week will be the last of this years August events when the Coningsby And Tattershall Strummers (CATS) Ukulele band will start at 2pm on Sunday 29th August. An additional day is planned for September 19th when the museum will be open for a free Heritage Day event.
